Mrs. Ola Mae Lovett Adams entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 in Louisville. 
Funeral services were held  Monday, Oct.17, at Spears Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Wadley, with Rev. C.W. Stone officiating. Burial was in the Green Cemetery, Cross-Green Community, Emanuel County. Pallbearers were Derrick Adams, Kelvin Adams, Troy Adams, Larry Battie, Eulas Swint and Press Woods.
Survivors are her children one daughter,  Carolyn Woods Tampa, Florida; four sons, Johnny Gene Adams of  Montgomery, Alabama, Donald Lee (Annie) Adams of Midway, Alabama,  Johnny Lee Adams, Wadley  and Roy (Catherine) Adams of Radcliff, Kentucky, 19 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Hudson Mortuary of Wadley was in charge of arrangements. 
 
Mr. Joe L. Brinson entered into rest Friday, Oct. 7, 2016. He was a Baptist and U.S. Army veteran. He resided in Brooklyn, N.Y. for 50 years. 
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 15, at Smith Grove Baptist Church, Wrens. Rev. Albert Robinson, Pastor, Rev. Willie J. White officiating. Burial in church cemetery. 
Survivors include daughter, Michelle Palmer; two sons, Rufus Suntra Brinson and Joseph Rivers; stepson, Adrian Spencer; two sisters, Geneva Griffin and Berdia Crafton; aunt, Margaret Brinson; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 
Burnett Funeral Home, of Wrens, was in charge of arrangements.
 
Denice Marie Arrington Pennington, 64, wife of 42 years to Samuel “Sammy” Raley Pennington, entered into her eternal rest Sunday morning, Oct. 16, 2016 at her residence.  Edward C. James will officiate. Funeral  services to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon, Oct. 22, at the home of Lloyd and Melody Arrington in Zebina.
One of four children born to the late Verna Mae Arrington and the late Herman “Jack” Jackson Arrington, Denice was a native of Jefferson County and a 1969 graduate of Louisville High School. She was an animal lover, especially cats and dogs, often taking in strays, nursing them to health, and trying to find them a good home. And if she couldn’t find them a home, they would end up becoming part of her “family”. Accepting and loving Jesus as her Lord and Savior, Denice had a true servant’s heart and a genuine love for people, especially the elderly. She worked in the Keysville Nursing Home and then provided in-home care for many years.  She could be counted on to do whatever she could to help others in need.  
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Pennington (Jonathan Jones); four grandchildren, Jerileigh Kimes, Shawn Bouchard, Ariel Rose “Princess” Jones and Baby Jones; three siblings, Brenda Uhl, Jack Arrington Jr., and Lloyd (Melody)Arrington ; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
The family will receive friends after the services Saturday, Oct. 22.

Mrs. Jean Merritt Pike, 81, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016. Services were held at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Mitchel, . Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Pike grew up in Hancock County and worked for many years as an apartment manager and was a home maker. She was preceded in death by her parents Horace Allen and Bessie Mae Kitchens Merritt, two sisters Grace Powell and Faye Daniels. She was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church.  
Survivors include her husband Harold K. Pike of Mitchell, her daughter Debbie Pike of Charleston, SC, two sons, Mike Pike of Perry and Mark Pike of Macon, two brothers Billy Merritt of Tifton and Bobby Merritt of Glascock County, a sister Alice Swann of Nashville, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mineral Springs Baptist Church c/o Janice Yarbrough 165 Yarbrough Lane, Mitchel, GA 30820.

Mr. John W. Stavely (J.W.)  70,  entered into his eternal  home October 5, 2016 . Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 8, at Praising Him Ministries in Stapleton, with Reverend Kenneth Watkins officiating and Pastor Cindy Glover Officiating. 
Survivors are his wife Edith Stavely, his son Richard (Leslie) Stavely step children Lisa Marsh, Frank Ward, Linda (Frankie) Lampp and James Marsh. Grandchildren Tia Stavely, Dereck Zellner ,Richard Stavely, Jr. Holly (Mike) Oliver, Stephen ( Laura) Raines) Brittany (Daniel) Kurtz, Jessica (Lance) Griffith, and Chris Lampp. Great Grandchildren, Dylan Alft, Landon Alft, Jordan Oliver, Macon Oliver, Kaiden and Lux Raines, Ryan and Liam Kurtz, Brianna Griffith.

Deacon Floyd Williams, Jr, of  Louisville,  departed this life Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at the Keysville Nursing Home and Rehab Center, Keysville, Georgia.
Mr. Williams was a native of Burke County. He was born the son to the parentage of the late Floyd Williams, Sr., and Tina Kittles Williams. He was united in holy matrimony to Ruby Lee Morris Williams. He attended the Gough Elementary School System. At an early age he joined and worshipped with the Christian Family at the Bryant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as Assistant Chainman Deacon, and was retired with Georgia Department of Transportation.
Survivors include his  wife; Ruby Lee Morris Williams, Louisville, children; Ruby Lee (Wadous, Jr.,) Cunningham, Louisville, , and Thelma Ann Lewis, Winder, , grandchildren; Roosevelt (Inez) Webb, Jr., Covington,  Lakeshia (Lonnie) Valles, Louisville,  Tiesha S. (Michael Johnson, Sr.,) Cunningham, Louisville, , and Tierra (Damien Farmer) Cunningham, Louisville, great-grandchildren; Niah Dickerson, Kentaizia Webb, Royanna Webb, Rojonte Webb, Madisyn Valles, Alaysia Farmer, Michael Johnson, Jr., and Zion Webb, sisters and brothers-in-laws; Harrison (Bernice) Morris, Millen,  Willie Arthur Morris, Vidette,  Frances Lockhart, Midville, Margaret (Bobby) Danzy, Albany, New York, Rosie Lewis, Albany, New York, Mary Lou Jones, Vidette, Mae Belle Bynes, Vidette, Earnestine Gray, Waynesboro,  and Eddie James Burley, Wrens,  friend; Deacon James Dukes, Waynesboro,  and a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
