Mrs. Maxie Walden Redfern, age 91 of Edgehill died Monday evening Feb. 5, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 9, at Mt. Zion Congregational Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Dixon officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Glyn Thomas, Harold Lamb, Shane Barrow, Bill Jones, Joe Gumby and Clay Gumby.
Mrs. Redfern was the daughter of the late Willie Gray Walden and Bessie Kate Hamilton Walden. She was a member of the Glascock County Board of Education and a member of Mt. Zion Congregational Methodist Church.
Mrs. Redfern was proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Macon Emory Redfern, infant sons, William and Johnny Redfern, sisters, Helen W. Jones (Calvin) and Vera W. Brookins (Roy), and is survived by a daughter, Martha Judy R. Dixon of Gibson, a son, Michael Emory Redfern of Gibson, special niece Angela Lamb Barrow & Shane of Edgehill, grandsons, Glyn Thomas, Edgehill, Mike Redfern, Gibson, Ayden Barrow, Edgehill, and Blake Lamb, Orlando, Fl., and granddaughter, Lyn Barrow, Edgehill and a close special friend Laura J Redfern, Gibson.
The family received friends Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mt. Zion Congregation Methodist Church.
