Mrs. Sarah Ann “Tissy” Jordan Fennell

Sarah Ann “Tissy” Jordan Fennell age 82 of Bartow, died Wednesday evening Feb. 7, 2018.
Memorial services were held 2 p.m. Saturday Feb. 10, 2018 in the Bartow United Methodist Church with Rev. David Boggs officiating.
A native of Bartow, Sarah Ann was the daughter of the late Hubert Franklin Jordan Sr. and Eleanor Slade Jordan. She was a graduate of Wadley High School and Georgia Teachers College. Upon graduating, Sarah Ann devoted her life to public service as a teacher. She spent over 37 years educating young children in both Fulton and Jefferson counties. In her retirement years she was involved with the Bartow Schoolhouse Players, Georgia Southern Alumni Association, Bartow UMC, and the Bartow Museum.
Tissy was known for her quick wit and strong will. Her spunky personality had a positive impact on all who knew her. She was an independent thinker and lover of life. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. While her main hobbies included painting and dancing the Carolina shag, her greatest accomplishment was her family. She loved us well!
Tissy was proceeded in death by her parents, Hubert Franklin Jordan Sr. and Eleanor Slade Jordan; sister, Patsy Jordan; son, Bryan T. McKettrick; and is survived by daughters, Terri Fennell McKettrick of Augusta, Donna Kay Gilvin (Mark) of McDonough; son, Alfred Tennyson “Al” Fennell Jr. (Kerry) of Suwanee; granddaughters, Anna Elizabeth McKettrick (Brandon Barton), Sarah Elizabeth McKettrick; grandsons, William Bryan McKettrick, Mark Andrew Gilvin, Jr. (Darby), Austin John “A.J.” Gilvin (Lauren), Ethan Tennyson Fennell; great grandchildren, Hali, Dakotah, Zoey; brother, Hubert F. Jordan, Jr.; nephew, Todd F. “my Todd” Jordan, Hubert F. Jordan III; lifelong best friend “Jackie” R. Wurst.
The Fennell family will receive friends immediately following the services Saturday in the church.
In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorials to the Bartow Community Club, School House Players, Bartow Museum or The Bartow United Methodist Church.
