Mrs. Brenda Hutcheson Cobb, age 74, of Davisboro died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Bartow, Georgia with burial in the Church Cemetery. Reverend Steve Keener and Reverend Chad Waller will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Cobb, Aaron Cobb, Christian Cobb, Chris Tanner, Chad Tanner, Justin Tanner, Caleb Severence, Aaron Hutcheson, and Mark Weilbaker.
Mrs. Cobb was born in Meeks and raised in Hawkinsville. She was the daughter of the late J.E. and Etoile Flanders Hutcheson. Early in her working career, Brenda was the bookkeeper for Triple C. Farms and worked at Washington County Extension office. While raising her family, she enrolled in Georgia College and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Business Management. Brenda later became a licensed insurance agent and began a career in insurance working for the Farm Bureau. In retirement, she created Cobb Enterprises, an estate sale business, and also owned and operated consignment stores. Mrs. Cobb was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Washington County Pilot Club, and an avid bridge player. She cherished family and was a devoted grandmother becoming a fixture at grandchildren’s school and church events. Her daughter, Stacey Ann Cobb, predeceases her.
Survivors are; her husband, Grover L. Cobb; children, G. Kevin Cobb and his wife Allison and Shannon Cobb Jones and her husband Andy all of Davisboro; grandchildren, Trevor Cobb, Tucker Cobb and his wife Brooke, Tyler Jones, Morgan Cobb and Jordan Grace Cobb, Amanda Jones Turner and her husband Justin and their children, Peyton and Barrett; brothers, James E. Hutcheson Jr. and his wife Sandy of Maryland, Bob Hutcheson and his wife Barbara, Tim Hutcheson, and David Hutcheson all of Florida.
The family will be at the Cobb residence on South Main Street in Davisboro, and they will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
