Mr. Prior Veazey Cason, 71, entered into rest Oct. 2, 2017.
Mr. Cason was born in Milledgeville to the late Pryor Gardner Cason and the late Mamie Lou Beall Cason. He lived for many years in Hancock and Glascock Counties, but had resided in McDuffie County for the past 10 years. Mr. Cason was a hard-worker and the owner-operator of Cason Logging Company. He was a faithful member of Little Brier Creek Baptist Church and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cason was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Cason.
Survivors included his beloved wife of 50 years, Peggy Cheely Cason; daughters, Shirley Black of Thomson, Barbara Williams (Keith May) and Bonny Lindsey both of Mitchell; sisters, Emily Smith of Thomson, Mary Dunn of Sparta, and Louann Chamblee of Milledgeville; sister-in-law, Polly Perkins; five grandchildren, Nicholas Chalker, Dustin Cason, Sam Williams, Brittany Lindsey, and Jonathon Downs; and two great grandchildren, Jacob Cason and Trinity Chalker.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6, at Little Brier Creek Baptist Church with the Reverends Randy Dunaway and Brian Hill officiating. Interment followed in the Dunn Family Cemetery.
Beggs Funeral Home of Thomson was in charge of arrangements.
