Lucille “Ceil” McClesky Parrish, 92, loving wife of the late Dr. Lewis Holmes Parrish, entered into her eternal rest Thursday morning, Jan. 12, 2017 at her residence.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, Jan. 14, with Rev. Carl Geisik officiating.

The youngest of four children born to the late Lucille and Samuel McClesky, Ceil grew up in Wrens, graduated from Wrens High School after which she attended and graduated from Erskine College with a degree in education. For many years, she taught school as well as worked in her husband’s medical practice. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, fishing, and reading the Augusta Chronicle daily, after which she worked the crossword puzzle.  Ceil was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, never missing a game.  An animal lover, she had a special affinity for dogs.  She was very civic minded and active in her community—a member in the Wrens Garden Club and John Franklin Wren Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).  She loved her Lord and Savior and actively served Him as a member of the Wrens Associated Reform Presbyterian Church.  Having a servant’s heart and desire to help others, Ceil served the Jefferson Hospital as a Pink Lady for many years.  Always one to enjoy good conversation, she was more a great listener than an active participant. Above all else, she cherished her family.  Her faith sustained her and was a lady in every aspect of life. Her death leaves a void that no one can fill, but her love leaves memories that no one can steal.

Ceil is also preceded in death by her son, Jeff Parrish; and three siblings, Henrietta Boyce, Annette Johnson and Robert McClesky.  Survivors include her granddaughter, Allison Crutchfield (Byron); two great grandsons, Evan  Crutchfield (Samantha) and Baylor Crutchfield; great-great grandson, Wyatt “Sevan” Crutchfield; sister-in-law, Elsie McClesky; brother-in-law, Reeves Parish; and many nieces and nephews.

The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to John Franklin Wren Chapter, NSDAR, c/o Beth Usry, 107 E. Quaker Road, Wrens GA 30833 designated for Wrens Memorial Cemetery Fund.

The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home one hour prior to the service, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m, Saturday afternoon, Jan. 14.

James Funeral Home in Wrens is in charge of arrangements.
