Mrs. Dorthey Quick, 84, of Waynesboro, died Friday evening, Sept. 23, 2016 in the Keysville Nursing Home.
Services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, in the Taylor Funeral Home Waynesboro with Rev. Wes Lawson officiating.
A native of Santa Maria, Calif. Mrs. Quick was a daughter of the late Charles David Keith Wagner and Ida Louise Loth Wagner. Dorthey had lived in Waynesboro for over 45 years. She had worked for Wheelers for many years, and was a home maker. She was a jack of all trades and a member of Rosemont Baptist Church.
Mrs. Quick was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by sons, David K. (Georgia) A. Wagner, Destry J. Wagner, Kenny T. Quick and Kevin M. Quick, sister, Charlotte Todd, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lola Mae Roberts died Sept.21, 2016, at Warrenton Health and Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Roberts was born Oct. 2, 1921, to the parentage of Willie Ed and Bertha Blair. She was a native of Jefferson County. She was united in Holy matrimony to Arthur Roberts for 69 years.
Funeral services were held Saturday Sept. 24, at Stonefield A.M.E. Church, Stapleton, with Rev. Forrest Dickey officiating. Pallbearers were Charles Jordan, Brandon Parker, and Randy Parker, nephews.
Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, three sisters, two brothers, and three grandchildren.
Survivors are her son Odell (Helen) Roberts, Louisville, daughters Mary Alice Simpkins Stapleton, Ruth (Charlie) Baker, Stapleton and Jeanette (William) Richardson, Avera; daughter granddaughter , Wanda Kelly, 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, sister Eddie Mae Daniels, Wrens, sister in law Classie Roberts, Stapleton, Annie Mae Roberts, St. Petersburg, Fla; Pauline Davis, Pompano, Fla, and Willie Bell Roberts, Pompano, Fla; brother-in-law, Waymon Roberts, Avera and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mr. Alton Edward Stewart, Sr., 81, entered into his eternal rest Monday morning, Sept. 19, 2016 at Pruitt Health in North Augusta. Funeral services were held Thursday morning, Sept. 22, 2016, in the James Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. C. Michael Wren, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Stewart, one of 10 children born to the late Laura Sellers Stewart and the late Grady Alton Stewart, was a native of Burke County and lived his entire life in Burke and Richmond counties. He attended Burke county school and graduated from Augusta Tech with two technical degrees—a certified welder and certified electrician. Alton retired after 32 years of service as a mechanic in the maintenance department of Albion Kaolin Mines. Survivors are his wife, Verna Stewart; three sons, Eddie (Pam) Stewart of Juliette, Bruce Stewart of Ft. Lauderdale Fla, and Ricky (Lou) Stewart of Ball Ground; three siblings, Elizabeth Huff, Grady (Caroline) Stewart, and James (Wanda) Stewart; five grandchildren, Mandy Tapley, Sherry Tapley, Bryan (Sheila) Stewart, Harlee Stewart and Ashley Stewart; eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mr.Stewart is also preceded in death by his beloved son, Tommy Stewart; grandson, Jordin Stewart; and six sisters. Pallbearers were Freddie Lariscy, Mike Parker, William Scoggins, Arthur Sears, Allen Stewart and Tony Stewart. Serving as an honorary pallbearer was Bryan Stewart.

Mrs. Mildred Brown Thompson, 87 of Daytona Beach, Fla, departed this life Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday, Oct.1, at 1 p.m. at Kingdom Life Ministries and cemetery, Wadley .Mrs. Mildred was a native of Jefferson County, born to the late Kelly and Vallie Mae Warthen Brown; She was the widow of the late Albert Thompson, Sr.; She is also preceded in death by, her brothers, Walter Brown, Ray Brown, Rufus Brown and Bobby Brown.
Survivors include three sons, Johnny (Channell) Freeman and Albert (Rebecca) Thompson, Jr. of Daytona Beach, Fla, Francis Freeman, Wadley, one daughter, Gracie Sampson, Wadley, brother, Howard (Verda Mae) Hudson, Wadley, sister, Louise Brown, Wadley, sister-in-law, Maxine Brown, Wadley, fourteen grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Jimmie Williams, Sr., 61 of McRae, departed this life Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at Mt. Pleasant CME Church and Cemetery, Bartow.
Mr. Williams was a native of Jefferson County. Born in Jefferson County the son of Charlie L. Williams and the late Mary Lee Flournoy Shellman. He was a 1972 graduate.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lee Flournoy Shellman, the image of a loving father, Lee Shellman.
Survivors include his wife, Bernell T. Williams, Sandersville, father, Charlie L.Williams, Aurora, IL; sons, Keith Williams, Bartow, and Jimmie Williams, Jr., Sandersville, sisters, Ann (Grant) Young, Waynesboro, Caroline (Michael) Hughes, Aurora, IL; brothers, Charlie J.
