Alton William Spells Jr., 1015 Hill Drive, Louisville, 66, Departed this life Feb. 11, 2018 at Jefferson Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb.17at 1 p.m. at the Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be held in the Louisville City Cemetery.
Mr. Spells was a native of Jefferson County, the son of the late Alton Williams, Sr. and Jacqueline Carter Spells. He was a 1969 graduate of Jefferson County High. Alton was a 1974 graduate of Tuskegee Institute, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and Optimist Club. At a young age, he dedicated his life to God at the Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville, and served as a Deacon and faithful member until his death. He was employed at Georgia Legal Services (Burke County), Department of Family and Children Service (Emanuel County), Seasonal Farmworkers Program, Swainsboro Elementary School (Emanuel County)
On Dec. 21, 1975 he married the former Sherry Robinson, together they have two children.
Survivors includes wife, Sherry R. Spells, Louisville; son, Alton William Spells III, Atlanta; daughter, Alta Denise Spells, Atlanta; a host of other relatives and friends.
