Mr. Jerry Joe Beckworth, age 64 of Monticello, formally of Gibson, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, in the Athens Reginal Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, in the Beckworth Swinson Family Cemetery, Baxley.
A native of Baxley, Jerry was the son of the late Abraham and Lola Grace Crosby Beckworth. He was a millwright mechanic with Kimberly Clark and a farmer.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Abraham Beckworth, Jr.; sisters, Jaunita Pohl and June Beckworth and is survived by his son, Corey Beckworth; daughter, Natasha Beckworth; sisters, Christine Oxendine, Myrtle Hogbin, Clementine Schulze, Merita Aswald, Janice Yee, Belverline Walters and Janie Jenkins; brothers, Willis S. Beckworth and Henry F. Beckworth; several nieces and nephews.
The Beckworth family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at the funeral home.
