Mrs. Mary Alice Brown Wicker

Mary Alice Brown Wicker was born on July, 20. 1939. She departed this life, Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 at her residence.  
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct.21, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. at the Magnolia Baptist Church in  Avera.
Mary was the daughter of the late Willie James Brown and Alflettie Peeples Brown. In 1959 Mary met and married the late Leroy Wicker.  At an early age she joined Stone Springfield A.M.E. Church and served faithfully until 1975, when she moved to Lakeland, FL. In 1991 she returned to Jefferson County and joined the Shiloh C.M.E. Church and later joined the Christian Family at Magnolia Baptist Church where she served faithfully as long as her health would allow. She was retired from National Linen Service after over 15 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, siblings, Nina Mae Brown Daniels, Mattie Ella Brown, Lucille Brown Uptons, Annie Maude Brown Davis, Willie Gardner Brown, Nathaniel Brown and Dorothy M. Wicker.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories, her children; Mattie Florence Brown, Lakeland, Fl., Annie Lois Wicker Poole, Avera, Leroy Wicker, Jr (Barbara), Wadley, Freddie Leon (Suzette) Wicker, Lakeland, FL, Kenneth (Rita) Wicker, Stapleton, Troy Allen Wicker, FL, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Louis Wicker, Davisboro, John Wicker, Bartow, Lottie M. (Walter) Thomas, Bartow, Mary L. Rollings, Davisboro; one devoted granddaughter, that she reared as her daughter, Forselphinie (Lil Bit) Brown, a devoted niece Sophernia Bell; a host of grandchildren, great grands, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
