Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Vonterrio Antron Anthony, age 32 of Myrtle Lane, Cocoa, FL, who died Saturday, July 15, 2017.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 22, in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Augusta, with Deacon Tony Lewis officiating. Burial followed in the Southview Cemetery, Augusta. Pallbearers were: Artez Anthony, Axsavion Anthony, Arthur Anthony, Hakeem Adams, Marcus Gainey and Julian Melton.
A native of Augusta, Mr. Anthony was a son of Marion Dunn and Vonda Anthony of Augusta. He was a 2004 graduate of T. W. Josey Highschool. Vonterrio was known for his swagger on the court. He played alongside his cousin Ken and was known for the best three-point shooter of all times. He made headlines in the newspaper with his famous jump shot and best defense. Mr. Anthony was a materials handler with Coca Cola.
Vonterrio is preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Barbara Jene Anthony and James Dunn and is survived by his parents; son, Vonterrio Antron Anthony, Jr.; grandmother, Betty Jean Dunn; brothers, Demond Anthony and Jamarion Dunn; special niece, Shanterria Dunn and devoted friend, Rashad White; aunts, Kimberly Anthony, Valerie Anthony, Toriea Neal, Harriett Anthony, Patricia Dunn, Helen Palmer and Barbara Ann Dunn, all of Augusta; uncles, Arnold and Tammy Anthony of Belvedere, SC, Johnny Dunn and Wayne Wilson of Augusta; many cousins and friends.
The Anthony family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service in the church.
