Glennis Marie Andrews Brown was born on Thursday, Feb. 8, 1951 in Wrens, to Daisy Lane Andrews and Ernest Andrews.
As her health began to decline, she relocated to Gibson, residing at the Gibson Rehabilitation Health Center.
On Friday, May 5, 2017, our beloved Glennis gained her wings as she passed away peacefully at the University Hospital in Augusta.
She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Brown; mother, Daisy Andrews; son, Olin Brown; two brothers, Johnny Dillard Andrews and Johnny “Gene” Hines.
At an early age, Glennis joined the Stone Springfield A.M.E. Church of Stapleton.  She attended the public school system of Jefferson County.  During her employment years, Glennis worked for the former Stapleton Garment Company in Stapleton, as a seamstress. Glennis had a passion for cooking and enjoyed dancing in her spare time.
Although our dearly departed loved-one has taken her flight, she will be forever loved and forever missed as we keep the memory of her close to our hearts.
Those left to cherish her wonderful memories are:  a daughter, Kishna (Terri) Walker of Wrens; a son, Purdus Andrews, Sr. of Wrens; three grandchildren, JaVionna Brown of Statesboro, Purdus Andrews, Jr. and TaVion Walker, both of Wrens; father, Ernest Andrews of Wrens; six sisters, Hattie “Jane” Johnson, Carolyn (K.C.) Thomas, Julia Andrews, all of Wrens, Barnell Alexander of Beech Island, SC, Earnestine (Kenneth) Robinson of Brooklyn, NY and Josephine (Freddie) Thompson of Louisville; two brothers, Willie C. Andrews of Augusta, and Donald R. Andrews of Wrens; one aunt, Ada Harris of Wrens; one uncle, Lamar Andrews of Hephzibah; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
I’ll Fly Away services were held on Saturday, May 12, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Stone Springfield A.M.E. Church, Stapleton, with the Pastor, Rev. Forrest Dickey, Presider, and Rev. Kenneth Hannah, Eulogist.  Interment was in the church cemetery.
