Mrs. Dora Lee Brantley Dogan, of 478 Forrest Drive, Louisville, departed this life Sunday, March 12, 2017, at her residence.
Mrs. Dora Lee Dogan affectionately known as “Aunt Doe” was born in Jefferson County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Joseph Brantly, Sr. and Cora Lee Johnson Brantley and the widow of the Late Mr. Jutson Dogan. At an early age she joined the Christian family at Gordon Grove Baptist Church and later, joined her husband at the New Hope AME Church where she served faithful as a Class Leader and Stewardess Board. For many years “Aunt Doe” enjoyed her time at the Jefferson County Leisure Center.
Dora is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four siblings, Homer Brantley, Cora Hilton, Ike Williams, George Brantley.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted children, Willie Mae Thompson (Joe), Judson “J D” Dogan, Jr., Catherine Hilton (Charles), Walter Dogan (Linda), Glenise Dixon (Lester), Geneva Dogan, Billy Dogan, Sr., Bessie Boyd (Gene), Louisville, Dr. Janette Dogan, of Warner Robins, Dr. Mae Frances Sampson, of Augusta, Bobby Dogan (Vanessa), Wadley, and Dr. Belinda Smith (Alphonso), Albany; sister, Mozella Dogan, Louisville and Marie Morris, Savannah; 20 grandchildren, Hillary, Lithia, Antreece, Chayenne, Eric, Mario, Adrian, LaWanda, Yontrea, Jontay, Quentin, Billy, Jr., Bridgett, Eric Tiphanie, Samantha, Sanqual, Vanesha, Valesha and Brayden; 23 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; special friends, Shirley Dogan and Annete Walden Outley, Louisville; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the New Hope AME Church, 11960 Highway 171 N, Louisville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
