Walter Elbert Prescott, 85, loving husband of 66 years to Eva Mae Wilson Prescott,  peacefully entered into his eternal rest Wednesday morning, May 17, 2017, at Keysville Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, May 20, 2017 at Wrens Baptist Church with Reverend Carson Fellows officiating.  Interment followed in the family plot at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery.
The youngest son of the late Carrie Ann Riley Prescott and the late James Atkinson Prescott, Walter was born and raised in Wrens, where he graduated from Wrens High School after which he attended South Georgia College in Douglas and was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry.
At the young age of nine, Walter accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and joined the fellowship of Wrens Baptist Church. A patriot, he joined the Navy and proudly served his country. After boot camp, he married the love of his life. Being stationed at various naval bases, they would join the fellowship of the local church. Upon being honorably discharged, they made their way back home and again joined the fellowship of Wrens Baptist Church, making him a member for a total of 72 years. Walter loved his church and church family—faithfully supporting the church and actively serving the Lord by teaching both men’s and boys’ Sunday School classes, being a devoted supporter of Brotherhood (a/k/a Baptist Men), serving on various committees, being a greeter, and being ordained and serving as a deacon for many years. His great love of music served him well as a member of the choir—he loved gospel music and singing praises to his Lord.
Farming was in Walter’s blood—he loved growing peaches, cotton, row crops and cattle. Along with farming, in 1968, he opened Prescott Furniture store.  Walter was a huge supporter of Farm Bureau, serving as the Jefferson County President for 37 years.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and shooting birds, especially quail, and was a great “supervisor.” He also followed politics and enjoyed debating the issues at hand. Equipped with a twinkle in his eye and a dry sense of humor, he was never at a loss for words. A strict disciplinarian, Walter loved his children unconditionally, teaching them about Jesus, being a good provider and being a devoted father. He was not a materialistic person but rather stored his “treasures” in his family, leaving them a legacy of honesty, integrity, and servitude.  Walter loved his Lord and Savior, his devoted wife, loving children, church family, community and America. He has completed his life’s work and is now in Glory.
Walter was also preceded in death by his brothers, James A. Prescott Jr. and Charles R. Prescott; and son-in-law, Nelson Foster. Other survivors include his four children, Sandra P. Foster, Richard W. Prescott (Ina), Jimmy W. Prescott (Joyce) and Raymond E. Prescott (Susan); nine grandchildren, Joel Foster (Maggie), Seth Foster (Bethany), Daniel Foster (Sarah), Amy Sanchez (Moises), John Prescott (Katie), Mary Prah (Scott), Jesse Prescott, Bethany Prescott and Erica Prescott; eight great grandchildren, Nicholas Foster, James Foster, Rebecca Sanchez, Jose Sanchez, Marcos Sanchez, Diego Sanchez, Callie Prah and Bailee Prah; cousins, nieces, nephews, and church family.
Pallbearers were his grandsons.  Serving as honorary pallbearers were the Walter Jacobsen Sunday School Class, Ordained Deacons of Wrens Baptist Church, and American Legion Post 229.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Wrens Baptist Church, P.O. Box 217, Wrens GA  30833 earmarked for the sign project.

Patsy Jeanette Sessoms Inglett, 71, loving wife of the late Robert Shelton Inglett Sr., entered into her eternal rest Friday afternoon, May 26, 2017 at University Hospital in Augusta. Funeral services will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, May 30, 2017, with Reverend Carson Fellows officiating. Interment will follow in Wrens Memorial Gardens.
One of five children of the late Mary Edna Simmons Sessoms and the late Albert Lee Sessoms, Patsy was born in the Starling Clinic in Roseboro NC, and was raised in Peter’s Creek just a few miles away. After graduating from St. Paul’s High School, she attended Fayetteville Community College where she earned her associate’s degree in Office Management.  At the age of 19, an “almost” accident resulted in her meeting the love of her life, with marriage following before her 20th birthday and their moving to his home in Wrens.  Patsy soon began her career in the U.S. Office of Personnel Management at Fort Gordon, retiring with 35 years of service as a Congressional Correspondence Clerk.  Her first priority, however, was her family and making their home a safe haven of love and laughter. She had a knack for crafts which satisfied her artistic nature, and loved working outside in the yards and her flower garden.  She also found great pleasure in going fishing with Robert. In later years, one of her favorite places was Wal-Mart, sometimes going three or four times per week, or as often as she could convince someone of her need to go.  After her illness began in 2008, she relocated to Pineview Gardens in Evans, and then last year moved to Young’s Personal Care Home in Hephzibah.  Her favorite pastime was reading, especially the Bible which she read daily.  She loved Jesus, worshipping and serving him at Wrens Baptist Church and then at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. Patsy always looked for and found the good in other people.  Because of her quiet, unassuming nature, when she spoke people stopped to listen and take note of her words of encouragement, advice and/or correction. A loyal, considerate friend, she dedicated herself to her family, finding her greatest rewards through her children and grandchildren on whom she bestowed much love, which was returned to her many times over.  She felt truly blessed and is now in the presence of her Lord. Patsy’s death leaves a void that no one can fill, but her love leaves memories that no one can steal.
Patsy was also preceded in death by her sister, Lou Espey; niece, Jennifer Espey; and nephew, Billy Espey. Those left to mourn her passing include her three children, Robert Shelton Inglett Jr., Donna Inglett Bailey (Donnie) and Becky Inglett Waller (Tim); three siblings, W.A. “Bill” Sessoms (Melody), Edna Greenlaw (Bob) and Bobby Sessoms; four grandchildren, Robby Inglett, Ryan Inglett, Will Waller and Shelton Brynn Waller; nieces, nephews, and many friends. Serving as pallbearers were Tommy Espey,  Robby Inglett, Ryan Inglett, Jace McTier, Charlie Sessoms and Will Waller.
The family received friends at James Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday evening, May 29, 2017.
Heartfelt gratitude is expressed to the staff of Pineview Gardens and Young’s Personal Care Home for their loving, compassionate care given to Patsy.

James “Pete” Franklin Royal, 64, peacefully entered into his eternal rest Friday morning, May 26, 2017, at his residence.  Funeral services were held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Monday morning, May 29, 2017 with Reverend Ed Chance officiating. Interment followed in the Historic Magnolia Cemetery in Waynesboro.
The youngest of ten children born to the late Eloise Glisson Royal and the late Schwartz Royal, Pete was a native of Waynesboro where he was born and raised. He worked on a dairy farm until he moved to Stapleton 30 years ago to live with his sister. He could be found riding the city streets on his golf cart, sitting on the front porch, or watching TV.  Pete loved classical country music—his favorite song was Merle Haggard’s Old Violin.  Children gravitated to this quiet giant who exuded the genuine, pure love of a child: he was never happier than when there were children in his presence.  A simple man, he lived an unencumbered life filled with the love of family.  Never having been married or having any children, he loved his nieces and nephews as his own—his family was the main focus of his life.
