Mr. Ralph Garry Bales, 75, of  Gibson,  died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, in the University Hospital, Augusta. 
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 25, in the Mitchell Full Gospel Church, Mitchell, with Rev. Chris Williford officiating.  Burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Craig Hunnicutt, Anthony Griswell, Craig Reece, Mike Lyons, Scotty Usry and Sam Griswold.
Mr. Bales a native of Edgehill, son of the late Rev. Ralph Bales and Glenice Cooper Bales. He was a painter and farmer and a founding member of Mitchell Full Gospel Church.
Mr. Bales is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his son, Brian (Tiffany) Bales, granddaughter, Taylor Bales, sisters, Cristal Hunnicutt and Kay (Rev. Jacky) Downs, all of Mitchell.

Mr. Wayman Clyde “Nick” Cheeley, 92, formerly of  Bartow, departed this life Sunday, June 26, 2016.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016, at James and Virginia Davis Chapel, Louisville, Interment in Henderson Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Cheeley was a native of Washington County and was the widow of the late Ruby Marion Warthen.
Survivors include his children, Maurde Yorker, Sandersville,  Allen (Alvonia) Cheeley, Bartow, Otis Jackson, Sandersville, Chester Jackson, Atlanta,  step sons, Hurie Lee (Annie Mae) Franklin, Sr., Fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Lillie Mae Green Passmore, 94, of Wadley, departed this life Monday, June 20, 2016, at her residence.
Funeral serviceswere held Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Pierce Grove Baptist Church, with the pastor, Rev. Johnny Ray Sampson, officiating. Louisville. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Passmore was born to the late Tom and Mary McBride Green in Jefferson County,  she was the widower of the late Wade Passmore, Sr., a homemaker, a member of the Pierce Grove Baptist Church and the Fair and Honest Society. She is preceded in death by five children, Eugene, Wade Jr., LeeLois, Lonnie and Charlie.
Survivors include her children, Mary (Johnnie) Passmore Warren of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Henry L.  (Michelle) Passmore, Grand Fork, North Dakota, Lola M. (Jessie) Tarver, Augusta, , John Willie (Cynthia) Passmore, Augusta, and Geneva (Kenneth) Flournoy, Wadley,   her grandchildren, Cathy, Michael, Steven, Tony, Jerry, Paulette, Avery, Meldric, Eric, Miranda, Narmon, William, Lekendrick, Jennifer, Paul, Michael, Milton, Alamannettic, Lilliedorishree, Chris, John, Darrin, Bernadette, Kenneth and Reginald; forty seven great grandchildren, thirteen great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Jessie “Gene” Eugene Reid, 80, husband of the late Beverly Ann Walden Reid, entered into his eternal rest Tuesday night, June 21, 2016, at his residence.  A private interment will be held in the Stapleton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Reid one of four children born to the late Margaret Owens Reid and the late Leroy Reid, Mr. Reid was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County, graduating from Stapleton High School. After graduation, he served our country by enlisting in the Navy. Upon his return from his four-year stint in the Navy, he retired with 27 years of service from EZ Go/Textron.  Mr. Reid is also preceded in death by all of his siblings, Roy Reid, Walter Reid and Ruby Gunby. Survivors include his three children, Regina “Jan” Reid, Kim Willingham and Jess (Casey) Reid ;7 grandchildren, Jennifer Ann (Lewis) Josey, Brandon Douglas May, Savannah Willingham, Chandler Willingham, Kaylee Reid, Rhett Reid and Joss Reid; 2 great grandchildren, Rachel Ann Josey and Tristan Connor May; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lillian Brookins Sirmans, of Louisville,  departed this life Sunday, June 26, 2016, at her residence.
Mrs. Sirmans was a native of Jefferson County. She was born the daughter to the parentage of the late Lonzie Brookins and Mary Ethel Long Brookins in Cleveland, Ohio. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Henry L. Sirmans. She was formally employed with Higbees Department Store, Cleveland, Ohio as a sales clerk. She was a devoted member of the Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the Mother’s Board, Sr. Choir, and Deaconess.
Mrs. Sirmans was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings; Mary Trimiew and Annie Mae Horne.
Survivors include her  husband; Henry L. Sirmans, Louisville,  daughter; Eloise B. Miller, Louisville,  step-children; Sam (Patricia) Sirmans, Bertha Lee Brooks, and Abdull (Nicole) Aquil Detroit, Michigan, sisters; Janie Broomfield, Louisville, , and Elouise B. Cobb, Atlanta, , brother-in-law; David (Hattie) Sirmans, St. Petersburg, Florida, grandchildren; Karen B. Cotton, Louisville, , Kimberly M. Winston, Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Rev. Vinson W. Miller, Sr., Louisville, a, great-grandchildren; Karencia (Jonathan) Janay, Valencia, Tevin, Kimbria, Tre, Vinson, Jr., Shayla, and Cameron, great-great-grandchild; Kennedy, godchildren; Whitney Darisaw, and Wayne Darisaw, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, July 1, 2016, at 12 Noon at the Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 604 West Broad Street, Louisville. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Memorial Garden, Louisville.

Mr. George “June” “Bostic” Young, Jr. 59, Louisville,  departed this life Thursday, June 23, 2016, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 27, 2016 at James and Virginia Davis Chapel. Burial will be held in the Ebenezer CME Cemetery, Bartow.
Mr. Young was a native of Jefferson County, a member of the Faith Memorial CME Church and attended Jefferson County Training Center.
Survivors include his mother, Gladys Bostic Young, Louisville,  sister, Dolly (Ben, Sr.) Wicker, Buford,  a brother, Barry (Wanda) Bostic, Louisville, ; aunts and uncles, Willie James (Odessa) Bostic of Davisboro,  Mildred (Freddy) Ross, Far Rockaway, NY; niece, Mariah Wicker, nephew, Ben Wicker, Jr. both of Buford,  cousins and other relatives and friends.
