Mr. John Albert Camp, 75, native son of Bartow, son of Colonel Pierce H. Camp and Harriette McMillan Camp, passed away on May 12, 2016, several weeks after having been diagnosed with lung cancer. He had lived for the past 23 years in Lubbock, Texas, working as a librarian and cataloger at Texas Tech’s main library and then at Texas Tech’s Southwest Collection. When he retired in 2014, he was granted an emeritus appointment, an honor bestowed by the university to recognize long and faithful and distinguished service. He was an avid collector of paperweights, primitive and Southwest art, and antique Chinese rugs. 
Mr.Camp  is survived by his nieces Willena Moye and Beth Whitson and her family, his aunt, Patsy McMillan of Bartow, and several cousins. A graveside memorial will be held on Saturday, June 18 at 4:30  p.m. in the afternoon at the Bartow Town Cemetery
Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home of Wadley.
 
 
Mr. Albert Lee Nelson, Sr. of Wrens entered into rest June 9, 2016 in a Richmond County hospital.
Funeral service will be held 12 noon Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Wrens Baptist Church with Bishop Anthony Chavers officiating. Interment will be in the House of Faith Holiness Church cemetery.
Mr. Nelson was born in March 4, 1948, to the late Willie James and Awtee Way Nelson. He received his education in the Jefferson County School System. He was dedicated member and deacon of House of Faith Holiness Church and the church financial Steward. He is a retiree of AAFES. He was instrumental as a mechanic and he was a floral delivery for Bloomin Occasions.
Survivors are his wife, Pastor Dorothy Lee Nelson of Wrens, children, Albert V. (Tonya) Nelson, Jr.  of Atlanta,  Sharon Marie (Robert) Nelson-Farmer  and Malessia Nelson; siblings, Walter George Nelson and Comet  (Shirley) Jordan  Antee Roberts, Lula Mae (Larry) Wood  Martha (Newt) Oliphant  Betty (Randy) Upton, Mary Hatch, Janice (Edward) Kay Stone  and Eunice Marie Murphy-Luther; reared as his siblings, Rosa Berry Lamb, Linda Hannah, Brenda Berry, Ray Berry and Andrew Berry; grandchildren, Dimitri D. Eaglin-Nelson, Albert J. Nelson III, Anthony Eric Watts, Netanya Sharee Farmer and Brandon Michael Farmer; brothers-n-law, Willie Robert Whitaker, James Whitaker, Jr., Dorothy “Dot” Nelson, Jereline Nelson, Lillie Bell Nelson, Shirley Jordan, Maryann Walker, Bessie Jane Nelson and Linda Whitaker; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Lindsey Nelson, Eddie James Nelson, Billiy Joe Nelson and Willie Lee Nelson.

Mrs. Annie W. Whitaker, 91, of Trenton  N.J. departed this life on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Capital Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, June 14, 2016  at Friendship Baptist Church,  Trenton, NJ. Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery.
Mrs. Whitaker was born in Jefferson County, she was educated in the Jefferson County School System in Wrens,  she relocated to Trenton, NJ, in 1969.
Mrs. Whitaker  was employed at Lee Overall for a short period. She received Christ in her life at an early age and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother’s Board.
Mrs. Whitaker  was predeceased by her husband, James Whitaker; her parents, Jeff and Bessie Dixon; her daughter, Annie Rose Avery; two brothers, Leroy and Ulysses Dixon; two grandsons, Michael Whitaker and Herbert Neely.
Survivors are her  four daughters, Mary Walker of Trenton, NJ (special friend Lewis Richardson), Bessie Nelson and Dorothy Nelson  of Wrens  and Linda Whitaker of Trenton; two sons, Robert and James Whitaker of Trenton; a sister, Rachel Banks of Hamilton; two sisters- n- law; Pearlie Whitaker of Richmond Virginia and Mildred Whitaker, of Jacksonville, FL; Grandchildren, Brenda, Lavon, Angela, Deann, Ethel, Eldora, Eddie, George, Lisa, Vanessa , Stephanie, James, Lisa, Charly, Vernon, Melissa, Sharon, Wanda, Shelia, Mary, George, Wytiena, Jonathan and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
