Lucile Newsome Boulineau, 88, loving wife of the late Joseph Myers Boulineau, entered into her eternal rest Thursday evening, Feb.8, 2018 at Thomson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services were held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 2: p.m. Monday afternoon, Feb. 12, with Rev. Butch Baston officiating. Interment followed in the Ways Baptist Church Cemetery.
One of seven children born to the late Pearl Howard Newsome and the late Lum Newsome, Lucile was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. After dropping out of school in the 7th grade to help out her family, she met and married the love of her life and started her own family.  Her first priority in life was to take care of her family and provide a loving home for her children. At the age of 30, she started working as a seamstress, retiring at the age of 65.  She loved her Lord and Savior, reading her Bible daily and joining the fellowship of Ways Baptist Church.  Lucile enjoyed cooking for her family and crocheting.  A fierce competitor, she loved playing Rummy, often until the wee hours of the morning. Her greatest pleasure was her family and was most content and happy in their presence. A devoted wife and loving mother, Lucile had a sweet, gentle spirit and was generous with her time and money, always helping her family and others in need in any way she could.  She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Lucile is also preceded in death by her children, Ronnie Boulineau and Bonnie Forbes; and all of her siblings, Shot Newsome, Ross Newsome, Bud Newsome, Annie Meyers, Essie Gay and Lizzie May. Survivors include her two children, Robert J. Boulineau Sr. (Judy) and Patsy B. McNair (Paul); 10 grandchildren, Robert J. Boulineau Jr. (Amanda), Billy Boulineau, Joseph Boulineau, Tabitha Helmly, Kim Boulineau, Angela Brown, Jonathan Brown, Donna Boulineau, April Farrer, and Priscilla Schmidt; 12 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Brown, William May, Jimmy McNair, David Meyers, Junior Newsome and Westy Wells.
Because of the financial burden of a prolonged illness, the family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made directly to James Funeral Home, P.O. Box 588, Wrens GA  30833.
The family received friends at James Funeral Home from 4 p.m.to 6 p.m. Sunday evening, Feb. 11, 2018.
