Mrs. Dessie Mae Thomas Williams, 74, 12265 Hwy 221 South, Bartow, departed this life Monday, Jan. 15, 2018.
Mrs. Williams’s parents, husband and three children, Terry Lee Williams Sr., Diana Williams Jackson and Alvena Williams preceded her in death.
Funeral services wereheld Sunday, Jan. 21, at 2 p.m. at the Faith Memorial CME Church, Burial were held in the Spring Bethel Benevolent Society Cemetery, Louisville.
Mrs. Williams was born in Jefferson County, Louisville, to the parentage of the late Mr. Dessie Thomas, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Louise Boyd Thomas. She was the widow of the late Albert Williams, Sr. She was a member of the former James Temple CME church, known now as Faith Memorial CME Church.
Survivors include one son, Albert (Shannon) Williams, Jr., Swainsboro; five daughters, Mary Louise Williams and Betty Jean Williams, Daytona Beach, FL, Alvonia (Allen) Cheeley and Minnie (Taren) Williams, Bartow, Katoria (Michael) Williams, Swainsboro; siblings, Lula Gamble, Hattie Thomas and Raymond (Brenda) Thomas, Louisville, Perry (Jessie) Thomas, Stapleton, Barbara Whitfield, Waynesboro; sister-in-law, Ruby Thomas, Louisville; a very special friend, Andrew Lemon; 30 grandchildren, great grandchildren, one aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
