Janice Gantt Ward, age 59, of 3474 Eden Church Road in Louisville, entered eternal life on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at Northside Hospital Cherokee, in Canton.
She was born July 24, 1958, in Douglasville, Douglas County, daughter of Martha Rainwater Gantt and the late Richard Lamar Gantt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Dennis Ward of Douglasville, and her father, Richard Lamar Gantt of Carrollton.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Lloyd Acklin, of Louisville; her mother, Martha Rainwater Gantt of Carrollton; one daughter, Amanda (Michael) Thigpen of Louisville; two sons, Timothy (Traci) Gantt of Edgehill, and Damion Ward of Louisville; stepchildren, Timmy Acklin and Terri (Dave) Fletcher, both of Canton, and Cathlene Acklin of Breman; one sister, Susan (Bo) Womack of Louisville; nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren, one aunt, one nephew and two great-nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Parkers United Methodist Church, Bartow, with the Rev. David Boggs officiating.
The family will receive friends and loved ones after the service at the home of Janice and Jerry Acklin, 3474 Eden Church Road, Louisville.
