Mr. Willie “Ray” McArthur, 74, resident of Wadley, died Friday evening at his residence.
Mr. McArthur was born in Emanuel County, son of the late Ernest and Lou Ella Douglas McArthur.
He was preceded in death by three half brothers-- Pete Grant, Winfred Grant and Douglas Grant.
He had lived in Wadley most of his life. Ray had been a salesman for 35 years and had retired from Fulghum Industries Security. Ray was a member of Stonewall Lodge #98 in Louisville. He was of the Baptist faith. Ray loved his grandchildren and all of his family.
Graveside services for Mr. McArthur will be held Wednesday morning, Dec. 27, at 11 a.m. from the Wadley Cemetery with Reverend David Boggs officiating. The Family received friends at Smith Funeral Home Tuesday, Dec. 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Survivors include, his wife Janice Meeks McArthur; sons Jamie McArthurand Travis McArthur (Angela); two grandsons, Nash McArthur and Ridge McArthur; two sisters, Imogene Bramlitt and Cheryl Wheeler.
Funeral arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home of Wadley.
