Billy Ray Laster, age 71, of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, at Mount Olive Church of the Nazarene with burial following in Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene Cemetery. Rev. Gordon Tippins, Rev. Lamar Brantley, and Rev. Tim Tharp officiated. The family received friends on Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Mr. Laster was a retired State Trooper, a member of Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene, an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a great supporter of Nazarene Ministry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Laster and Ester Marsh Laster, and his sister Helen Gray.
Survivors include his wife Janice Laster of East Dublin, his sister Judy McDonald (Wayne) of Gibson, and several nieces and nephews.
The State Patrol Honor Guard served as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers were; John V. Thigpen, Donald Warnock, Doyle Knight, Robbie Jones, Clifton Flanders, Robert Soles, Gary McCord, Autry Brantley, Ed Knight, Jimmy Knight, Bobo Thompson, Billy Thompson, and also active and retired Law Enforcement Officers.
