Sarah Elizabeth Peel, 79, of Gulfport, FL, formerly of Leesburg known to many as Peggy Brown passed away Oct. 28, 2017.
Sarah, was born April 13, 1938 in Vidette, to GS and Martha B Peel.
Many people will remember Peggy’s caring and smiling face when growing up in Vidette.
At age 60, she received her BS of Arts Degree from Eckerd College in Saint Petersburg FL. Sarah had a career as Senior Services Coordinator at the Gulfport Multipurpose Senior Center where she received many awards including Most Caring Social Worker and Employee of the Year in 2004. She completed two Walt Disney World Marathons.
Sarah is survived by her four children; Martha Hardy of South Pasadena, FL, Gilbert (Carla) Brown of Leesburg, Betsey (George) Silva of Virginia Beach, VA and Katherine (Ron Martens) Hunter of Waynesville, NC, her seven grandchildren Michael Hardy, David Hardy, Sarah Hardy, Gil Brown, Matt (Kristen) Brown, Mark Silva, and Robert Silva, two great-grandchildren Kassius and Karter Hardy, her three brothers Bob, Gilbert, and Leslie Peel and numerous nieces and nephews, and also her best friend Bill Distel and four legged companion Sadie.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 at Vidette Methodist Church Social Hall, 141 N. College Ave., Vidette, GA 30830.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 in Gulfport, FL at the Gulfport Senior Center.
