Mrs. Doris Jean Sanders Tilson, of 491 Old Wadley Road, Midville, Georgia departed this life Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia.
Mrs. Tilson was a native of Harnett County. She was born to the parentage of the late Cleveland Sanders and Elizabeth Miller Sanders. Doris was united on holy matrimony to the late Earl Chancey Tilson. She was a member of the St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, Midville, Georgia, and was formally employed as a Billing Receptionist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters; Jackie Sanders, and Minnie Haynes, and one brother;
Survivors include her loving son; Anthony (Lidia) Tilson, New York, New York, adopted daughter; Sheree (Tommie) Moody, granddaughter; Tabitha P. Tilson, New York, aunt; Dorothy Haynes, Panama City, Florida, nieces and nephews; Paul Whaley, Eric Smith, David Rhodes, Messiha Rhodes, Cydnee Brown, and Cleveland Sanders, and a host of great-nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, Midville, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
